Is it safe to travel to Cancun for spring break?
Despite the pandemic that has touched the world, it is perfectly safe to travel to Cancun in 2021.
Cancun is safe and there are no current travel restrictions placed on Cancun and the Riviera Maya.
The Governor of Quintana Roo created the “Clean & Safe Certification Program” early last summer. After that, it helped generate confidence within the community. In addition it gave true guidance on how to keep Cancun safe. The certification was launched in May of 2020. Tim’s Ocean Condos was one of the very first applicants evaluated and inspected to meet their criteria.

How will I know it is safe in Cancun?
Mexico uses the Epidemiological Risk Stoplight to monitor and regulate the use of public space according to the risk of contagion of COVID-19.
The traffic light is made up of four colors:
Red - do not go out if it is not necessary. Only essential economic activities will be allowed, and people can walk around their homes during the day.
Orange - stay home if you can. In addition to red regulations, companies of non-essential economic activities will be allowed to work with 30% of the personnel for their operation. For instance public spaces will be opened with a reduced capacity.
Yellow - more activities but with caution. All work activities are allowed and must be carried out with basic prevention measures and maximum care for people with higher risk of COVID-19.
Green - all activities are allowed.
