Today I want to share with you the pros and cons of living in a penthouse on the Caribbean Ocean in Cancun Mexico while on your family vacation.
Sounds a little obnoxious to even think that there would be something so terrible as to having to be forced to stay in a penthouse in Cancun Mexico but there can be difficulties that come with being able to vacation in a penthouse in the most beautiful place in the world.
Although it is my opinion that the absolutely stunning jaw dropping ocean views (that completely take your breath away) far outweigh any difficulty staying in one of our vacation rental properties I do feel there are some negative items that do need to be appreciated before deciding to rent a penthouse in Cancun.
Let’s start with the positive
- Unobstructed views
- Lots of natural sunlight with no other buildings or trees blocking your windows
- Private outdoor space above the world
- Peace and quiet knowing there is no one above you
- No noise from the traffic and pedestrians at "street level"
- Security - knowing no one can just walk up and open your windows or sliding glass doors to get in
And now the negative
- Exposure to the sun and elements, our outdoor furniture takes a huge beating from the direct sunlight with no chance of any shade
- Windy - sometimes the gusts from the ocean breeze are difficult to keep yourself standing straight out on the balcony
- Noisy from the wind pushing the glass windows and doors inside their frames
- Outdoor landscaping dies easy - not enough water and too much daylight all day long
- Eventually subcontractors need access to the roof for maintenance on the entire Hotel and that means hanging around outside on the terrace
- More stairs to walk up if the elevators ever break down or electric power goes out
- Holes get drilled through the balcony for the ropes to go through for window washers below the penthouse
